PTC Flash Team Challenge

PTC Flash Team Challenge Race is an exciting new race for elementary schools and middle schools that we are hosting on Saturday May 22nd. We have partnered with other key groups in the Fayette County running community: PTC Running Club, the elementary school running clubs, the middle school PE and track coaches, and top High School Track & Field athletes. This race helps:

To connect the running programs from elementary school thru middle school to high school
To provide lots of recognition and awards to our future runners
To create some friendly rivalry among the schools

Overview of the Race:

· This is the only race in Fayette County were it is school vs. School

· There are 10 divisions 4^th grade & under team, 5^th grade & under team, 6^th, 7^th, 8^th grade (boys and girls.)

· The race is a cross country race, where everyone runs within a division, and we score the top 5 runners from each school/grade/gender score. Lowest score wins

· The distance is 3000m (less than 2 miles)

· The first race starts at 8am, another goes every 20 minutes, and last race starts at 10am; Awards from 10:30-11:30am

· Location: race starts behind Oak Grove Elementary School and runs around Braelinn Fields for 2 loops.

· Individual Awards for the 10 top in each race/division (100 awards to kids)

· Team Champion Awards for each Division- Medals for top 8 runners on winning team and Team Trophy goes to the school

· While it is a team race, all kids from a school will be able to run; if a school does not have enough for a team, individuals can run.

· Additionally, any PTC Flash runners not in Fayette County, private school, or home schooled can run as an unattached athlete in their grade/gender’s race.
